In the midst of Milan Fashion Week and just after London Fashion Week, we are seeing some iconic jewellery trends on the runway. One that really stands out is the layered trend. This trend has been spotted in multiple fashion shows with designers such as Dior, Chanel and Saint Laurent.
With bracelets or necklaces, layering can add a beautiful and unique look to your outfit. Picture layers of dainty gold, silver or rose gold chains shimmering and cascading. This easy to wear trend just needs a combination of necklaces or bracelets stacked up. Pile up diverse types of necklaces, mixed metals, textures, lengths and designs.
If you are layering bracelets…
For a casual look, anything goes. You can mix metals such as silver and rose gold and mix chunky bangles with fine, slip bracelets or leatherettes.
For a night out or an event, stick to a theme. Perhaps wear the same type of metals but different thicknesses. Alternatively, wear jewellery from the same collection such as the la Med Collection or the House of Rose Gold
It is important to wear the right metals for our outfit, stick to silver when wearing cool colours such as blues and greys. For gold or rose gold pair with warm colours such as red and beige. Neutral colours such as black, white and denim are great for mixing metals. The tone rule goes for necklaces too!
If you are layering necklaces…
Layered necklaces look balanced when you wear thin, delicate pieces close to the neck on short chains, with larger pendants or tassels on longer chains, then stagger your chain lengths with additional necklaces in between.
